The role of the Press

Since its earliest years the Trade Union movement has placed particular emphasis on the development of the press. A special mention must be made for the wall newspapers published between 1940 and 1949, and entitled “Η φωνή του Εργάτη” (The voice of the Worker). The official instrument of communication of ΠΕΟ was the weekly newspaper “Εργατικό Βήμα” (Workers’ Step) which until today has been in publication since 1956.
